Administrative Professionals’ Day, formerly known as Secretaries’ Day, is observed annually in the United States on Wednesday of the last full week of April. Long before this holiday was first established in 1952, Mildred Elley has been on the cutting edge of training students for administrative careers in the Albany, New York area. Since Mrs. Elley began to train students in shorthand and typing skills in her Quail Street home in 1917, thousands of students have graduated from the school with the skill sets necessary to provide administrative support in a great variety of settings.
