Enrollment in credit-bearing online courses is growing. Based on feedback from the 2014-2015 student climate surveys and various institutional assessment processes, credit-bearing online courses were updated and improved.
The Massage Therapy programs on each campus recently published and distributed to all enrolled program students a Massage Therapy Student Handbook. The Massage Therapy student handbook outlines the mission, philosophy, and goals of the program as well as the program’s conceptual framework and expected instructional outcomes.
The results of the recently conducted Student Climate Assessment indicate that 87% of students enrolled at Mildred Elley have expressed overall satisfaction with all areas of the campuses, with over 45% reporting that they are very satisfied.
The faculty of Mildred Elley have begun a cross-campus academic review of ENG 102, English Composition. Similar to the academic reviews that were conducted for the Freshman Seminar and Anatomy and Physiology courses, each campus will convene a group of interested faculty members to review the course syllabus, textbook, grading rubrics, assignments, rigor, and student learning outcomes of ENG 102, English Composition.
In conjunction with the 2015-2016 academic goals, Mildred Elley has aligned academic department goals with specific regulatory and accreditation outcomes. This academic department goal alignment process has also resulted in an improved faculty meeting structure.
In response to student demand and increased academic rigor, Mildred Elley has augmented the number of scheduled tutoring sessions offered at each campus.
Students enrolled at Mildred Elley are succeeding because they are taking advantage of the various scheduled tutoring sessions offered on campus.
These scheduled tutoring sessions focus on subject areas such as anatomy and physiology, science, writing, mathematics, nursing, business management, paralegal studies, and massage therapy.

Department Chairs and faculty members from the three Mildred Elley campuses recently completed a review and assessment of anatomy and physiology courses.
The goal of this assessment was to ensure that the anatomy and physiology courses offered on each campus can commonly achieve the academic needs of the various allied health programs.
The faculty examined and agreed to a common academic rigor that included the consistent use of identified textbooks, course syllabi, testing materials, grading rubrics, and supplemental instructional materials.
These curricular revisions will help to strengthen the academic experiences of enrolled students. The review and assessment of anatomy and physiology courses is another tangible example of the institution’s commitment to continuous improvement by focusing on academic improvements, student service improvements, and accreditation and compliance improvements.

Mildred Elley is proud to announce that the institution will be transitioning to the Moodle learning management system beginning with the Spring 1 2016 term.
