The faculty of Mildred Elley have begun a cross-campus academic review of ENG 102, English Composition. Similar to the academic reviews that were conducted for the Freshman Seminar and Anatomy and Physiology courses, each campus will convene a group of interested faculty members to review the course syllabus, textbook, grading rubrics, assignments, rigor, and student learning outcomes of ENG 102, English Composition.
After the campus committees have reviewed and discussed the course, a cross-campus collaboration team will determine the final course improvement recommendations. This review is expected to be concluded by the beginning of the Summer 2016 term.
These curricular revisions will help to strengthen the academic experiences of enrolled students. The review and assessment of English Composition is another tangible example of the institution’s commitment to continuous improvement by focusing on academic improvements, student service improvements, and accreditation and compliance improvements.
