Enrollment in credit-bearing online courses is growing. Based on feedback from the 2014-2015 student climate surveys and various institutional assessment processes, credit-bearing online courses were updated and improved.
Mildred Elley implemented a process of student engagement monitoring combined with additional technical and instructional support for identified students. Additional faculty training opportunities were scheduled along with faculty engagement monitoring for online courses.
Face-to-face training and information sessions for online courses are held on each campus at the beginning of each term. The institution has also improved the online course selection process focusing on program elective courses.
These online course improvements are another tangible example of the institution’s commitment to continuous improvement by focusing on academic improvements, student service improvements, and accreditation and compliance improvements.
